Depression is the third largest health problem globally, after cardiac disease and cancer. The strange thing about depression is that it is no respecter of persons and therefore anyone could be subject to it. The famous psychiatrist, Jerome Frank, said that mental health problems are usually a problem of demoralisation or loss of hope. In this brief podcast, Dr Denis O'Hara discusses the nature of depression and the importance of regaining hope as a key feature of recovery.
