Research

The team at Hope RPI are involved in ongoing research and also provide research supervision for postgraduate students. The team's research interests span several disciplines including education, leadership, counselling, psychology and mental health practice.

 

Current Research Projects

The Application of Hope Theory to Practice. This projects aims to draw a hope-informed practice framework from current hope theory. It is designed to explore the application of the framework to a range of practices including counselling and psychotherapy, teaching and change management.

Identifying the relationship between hope and reflective function. Reflective function is the ability to be aware of one's own thoughts and feelings and the likely thoughts and feelings of others. This ability is critical in facilitating ongoing personal development and interpersonal relationships. Preliminary research has identified a link between high hope individuals and higher levels of reflective function.
